Does anyone still read this journal?

I recently received a letter (dated May 11, 2996) informing me of the passing of George Roche III. I imagine most of you did.

I got to know George and his first wife, June, as my wife (girlfriend at the time) babysat for their daughters a couple times when she came over from France to visit in October 1980. That's a long story that I will not go into here.

Here is the reason for this post: If there is anyone who reads this journal who was a student at Hillsdale for the 1999-2000 school year, I would like to have your account of the tragic events that happened on October 17, 1999. I doubt we will ever have the full truth. I wonder if those involved even know for sure. I am simply curious as to how it was handled. What were the professors and students told? What were the stories that were circulated around the campus?

I attended Hillsdale from 1978 until 1982. Lissa Jackson Roche graduated from Hillsdale in May of 1978 - three months before I started my freshman year. According to Lissa in 1999, she had been having an affair with George III for 19 years. That means it started around 1980 - I was a Hillsdale student! Actually, I was over in France with the University of Notre Dame for the 1979-1980 year, returning to Hillsdale in August of 1980.

I am not looking for dirt so much as an understanding (from those who were there) of what happened at Hillsdale at this time. I remember receiving a letter from Hillsdale informing me of what had happened and that George had resigned. I didn't think much of it at the time. If he was guilty then he did the right thing. If he was innocent then it was a tragedy.

Please share what you know. Thank you.

Dorm Life [Apr. 8th, 2006|10:37 pm]
Hillsdale College Kids
I plan on attending Hillsdale next fall. I'm filling out all those forms, and I'm just trying to get a feel for the dorms. Are there some dorms that are more quite AKA everyone studies? Are there that have a little more going on? Personally, I would prefer a really active dorm. If anyone could give me quick breakdown of the housing, that would be cool. Oh yeah, being a male im interested in the male dorms...thanks

Also, which dorms, not socially...just in general are the nicest? Thanks again

Hey there hi there ho there,

My name's Erin and I'm a high school senior from Los Angeles, CA. I've been recently admitted but unsure Hillsdale is right for me. I've read great things about the professors and the campus' aesthetics. My concerns, however deal with the small-town life. Am I going to have to get really friendly with the local Blockbusters?

¤ i love cold weather, and have prospered in the windy city for a weekend in february but wonder if Hillsdale winter is different than Chicago winter.
¤ the other schools i'm considering are UC Irvine, Univ of Washington and Loyola University Chicago- much larger schools with much larger class sizes.

I think i definitely want to go to Hillsdale but can anyone give me some good justifications to assure my parents it is indeed the best choice!!?? I'd really appreciate it :)

I'm Hannah Vincent,

I currently attend University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I am going to school for sculpture, ULL is the best in the state. However, they do not nurture skill in sculpture, as I had hoped. Hillsdale, on the other hand, does. I want to know my likelyhood of being accepted as a transfer student. I graduated from Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts with a 3.8 or 3.85 and I have a 23 on my ACT (which is why I doubt my being accepted). My artsite is: www.hvart.zoomshare.com, tell me what you guys think. And if you think I will be accepted should I shoot for the spring '06 semester of fall '06 semester, thanks.

[music |Further Seems Forever]

I think it was a few months ago that I posted on here and somebody commented and mentioned something along the lines of a Conan O'Brian fan group. Does this little ring of people still exist? I think the person said that they did this last year in Galloway but since then it has relocated to Koon.

Just wondered if this band of people still existed...if they are the people building the Jolly Roger...and if the invitation was still on the table?

A few days ago, as I was reaching for a beer mug, I decided not to use the usual mugs in the front, and to reach towards the very back of the cabinet. Look at what I found...

This is my first post here and I'm terribly sorry that it happens to be about something very boring. So, I'll be a freshman in the fall, and I've gotten all these papers about what I should buy and a few "hey, here's a check-list!" letters. On all of them, it says "Twin XL beds in all but Olds." My question is, what size bed does Olds have?

Again, sorry, but I'm the kind of person who likes to plan ahead and this has been driving me crazy. :)
